Aphrodite is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist with over 18 years of experience in the assessment and counselling of adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties. Aphrodite brings a wealth of knowledge, passion and competence to her role and upholds a strong commitment in empowering individuals to overcome their personal challenges, build resilience and lead a happy, healthy and connected life. Aphrodite consults every Monday and Tuesday.


Aphrodite provides a warm, safe, inclusive, collaborative and respectful environment focused on the individual needs of her clients as she understands no two people are the same. Aphrodite utilises a range of treatment modalities drawn from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness. She has a particular interest in trauma and the use of EMDR to resolve emotional disturbance. In addition, she provides coaching services, working with motivated clients to achieve their goals, optimum well-being and their highest potential.

Treatment Philosophy


Aphrodite has worked extensively across public, private and forensic mental health settings. Aphrodite commenced her career in the youth justice system working with youth offenders who presented with varying risk, behavioural challenges, significant trauma and complex needs. She has vast experience facilitating various group programs (e.g violence prevention, emotional regulation, mindfulness). She has further worked in job network services with adults experiencing multiple psychological barriers, providing clinical/vocational assessment and treatment with a return to work focus.

Aphrodite has worked in private practice for the past 10 years working with adolescents (16+) and adults of various backgrounds and presentations including Monash University Health Services and as a Sessional Psychologist for the Children’s Court Clinic providing expert assessment and reports in the Criminal and Family Division. Throughout her career she has often engaged and provided regular primary and secondary consultations, coaching and mentoring of staff in relation to mental health matters. Aphrodite is trained as an advanced-level EMDR therapist and is passionate about bringing the powerful benefits of EMDR to clients who may have already tried talk therapy and found it wasn’t enough or those who are ready to overcome their emotional and mental health challenges and experience faster and targeted emotional well-being.
