Dr Tahmineh Salehi is a consultant psychiatrist with more than 14 years of experience in psychiatry across public and private settings, including both inpatient and outpatient mental health services.

Dr Salehi works with adults experiencing a broad range of mental health difficulties. She has a strong interest in general adult and cross-cultural psychiatry.

Dr Salehi speaks English and Farsi (Persian) and welcomes patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.


Treatment Philosophy

Dr Salehi takes a compassionate, person-centred and holistic approach to psychiatric care. She believes that understanding a person's mental health requires consideration not only of symptoms and diagnoses, but also of their individual circumstances, relationships, experiences, culture and broader social context.

Her practice is informed by a biopsychosocial and culturally sensitive framework, incorporating evidence-based pharmacological and psychological treatments according to each person's needs. She places particular importance on developing a strong therapeutic relationship and taking the time to understand each patient's concerns, goals and preferences.

Dr Salehi works collaboratively with her patients to develop individualised treatment plans and aims to support informed decision-making, recovery and longer-term wellbeing.

Dr Salehi has worked across a range of public and private mental health settings in Australia, including inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services.

Her clinical experience includes the assessment and management of both acute and longer-term mental health conditions. She has extensive experience working within multidisciplinary mental health teams and collaborating with general practitioners, psychologists and other health professionals to provide coordinated care.
